The 31st annual Flowers Sea Swim, held Saturday, June 17th, concluded at the convergence of two renowned establishments: the Villas of the Galleon and the Ritz-Carlton. The Villas of the Galleon (VOG), a leader in Seven Mile Beach hospitality, proudly stepped up as a sponsor for this momentous event, aligning themselves with the values of community engagement and swim safety.

Among the participants were esteemed Olympic swimmers from various countries, adding an extra layer of prestige to an already extraordinary occasion. A vibrant crowd of approximately 800 individuals gathered on the shore to welcome the swimmers.

Commitment to Youth and Community:

Villas of the Galleon (VOG) deeply cares about commitment to youth and community because they recognize the significant role they play in shaping a thriving and vibrant society. VOG understands that investing in the youth and supporting community initiatives is essential for fostering growth, development, and overall well-being. By prioritizing youth empowerment and community engagement, VOG aims to create a positive impact and contribute to the betterment of the local community. They believe that nurturing the potential of the younger generation and actively participating in community-driven efforts are key pillars in building a strong and prosperous society for everyone involved.

Charitable Focus and Swim Safety:

The Flowers Sea Swim is not just a thrilling competition; it is also a platform for raising funds for charitable causes on the island. The registration fees collected from participants are directed towards the YMCA/Flowers Learn to Swim Program. This program has a vital objective: to provide free access to pools and essential swim safety training for all school-age children in the local Government School network. With a firm belief in the importance of swim safety, VOG wholeheartedly supports this cause.

Addressing a Crucial Issue:

The islands face the tragic reality of too many preventable drowning incidents involving children each year. By channeling resources into swim safety training through the YMCA/Flowers Learn to Swim Program, the Flowers Sea Swim contributes to reducing these senseless accidents. Villas of the Galleon recognize the urgency and significance of this issue, and their sponsorship plays a pivotal role in making swim safety accessible to all.

The 30th Anniversary of the Flowers Sea Swim marked a remarkable milestone in the history of this event. By supporting the YMCA/Flowers Learn to Swim Program, VOG is actively contributing to the prevention of drowning incidents among children. The Flowers Sea Swim continues to be a beacon of unity, bringing together swimmers, sponsors, and spectators to champion a worthy cause.
